Heavenly Sound Check Arkansas' beloved musical passion play, The Witness , seeks a sound boost By Melanie Saxton or over 30 years, The Witness has ministered to countless people, churches, schools, special events and prisons. This musical production aspires to the highest quality of sound, which is con-tinually challenged by wear and tear on the equipment. Audiences can be distracted by crackling microphones and sound clipping in and out, which has recently become an issue. Now organizers and supporters seek to replace faulty equipment so that the vibrant message reaches hearts and minds. The mission is to ensure the performances remain life-changing and that Christ is glori-fied. An "all hands on deck" effort is underway as the cast, crew and organizers of The Witness appeal to the community. Not only does the sound equipment require upgrades, but the producers want to continue to offer complimentary the tickets to organizations such as orphanages, Teen Challenge, Celebrate Recovery groups, pastors, veter-ans and cancer survivors. Fundraising can make all the difference and help ensure the "sound" of the amphitheater matches the magnificent "look," complete with a 1,000-seat amphitheater, 165 foot Roman wall, tem-ple columns, scenic baptismal pond, The Upper Room, Garden of Gethsemane, Crucifixion Mountain and simple tomb. “It is as if God Almighty had pressed His hand against the soil, and an amphitheater came up between His fingers," says Judy Mcearl, Board President/Director of Witness Productions, Inc. She oversees 150 volunteer actors, singers and crew from over 50 area F churches involved on a rotating basis, and many come from Hot Springs Village. "The bottom line is getting the Gospel of Jesus out to as many as possible, in an authentic, appealing format with His Presence exalted," says Mcearl.
